Wow it just hit me that Yuna that I used to know is not what Yuna is now.
I mean, I used to be able randomly drop that girl a message and I'd get a reply,
heck I even get to chat with her occasionally dulu; catching up on stuff, talks about boys and stuff. (yes I can't even believe it myself.)
I don't even know if I even got the chance to talk to her end of this month.
Wow, everyone just change so much.
(I am NOT implying that she's totally a different person (she's still who she is, well at least that's what my last memory of her can recall), it's just that.. your usual dorky girl is not that usual anymore. She's frikkin somebody now, and I am totally, totally proud of her. Period.)

On a slightly unrelated note, I am loving the third EP installment of the biggest sweetheart I've met in history - William Beckett; loving the fact that he's keeping the friendships with the rest of the band members, and that The Butcher is in this one.
--
Yes, William effin' Beckett wished me a few days earlier before my birthday and I received one extra prints from my favorite drummer, The Butcher. A personal message from Mr. Beckett will be waiting for me in a few weeks' time (because I have such an awesome friend to help me with this ♥)
--
I turned 25 on Monday. I'll be working soon, like soon next week kind of soon. I've been living alone for a week since Monday which I havent been doing in years, and it sucks, so far. Which I'm coming to a conclusion that I cannot live alone. Ever. (Which is why, I need to work hard and get me and bros a place to live in peace)
It's not that I got depressed, it's just that everything seems to be... stagnant and slooooow. I hope things get better next week, inshaAllah. c:
This year birthday/birthweek wasn't as eventful as last year's but ohmygod did you see what did I get for this year? William Beckett & The Butcher. gsfdgfhjdgas. My 18 years old self would tell me to get the hell off because THIS won't happen, not in a million years, but it happened. So BOOYAH 18 y/o self! :P
I got to see Evie one last time too, that precious little kid. Easily my favorite kid on earth ♥
--
Y'know what, I thought I'd come up with uber cool, deep and meaningful post because hey I'm 25 now. But guess what I can't hahahaha, well I guess age is just a number after all. I'll take on my world soon, and I will rock it. As hard as I can. *Yay for optimism!*
So this will do for now.
I befriend so much people (in and out of Malaysia, in fact) for the past 3 months, thanks for the unemployment, social network and Beckett.
This is important: *crack knuckles*
__
I've told you how perfect Sunday went have I not? And I've told almost everyone I know Sunday night was perf- *kabush*,
Well this is going to be longggg and fangirl-ish (at least total full blown fangirling), you might wanna fix yourself a cuppa. Let's do this!
--
I got important meeting at 9 with some important people on Sunday morning and I stayed until 11. I promised them I'll stay until 1130 but I was extremely fidgety just by knowing that I'll be seeing the man himself at 5 on the same day. Grabbed my car key, picked up my bros and L and we were good to go. I actually drove out from SA at noon. Brothers complained that it was a tad too early to go anyways, but I did not let that affect my eager beaver-ness to meet Bill.
We got lost for at least an hour LOL and never have I ever be in the middle of KL behind the wheels so it was such a beautiful adventure (for me at the very least, I'm not sure about L. Heheh)! We've crossed Dataran Merdeka, KLCC, BB you name it.
At 2 something I manage to find my way back and headed back to Dutamas to find Publika. Fun fact: I've been to Publika twice, one for the YunaInspred competition (me and the band as the VIPs) and another one for The Impatient Sisters at The Bee but never by my own so I got lost (again, me - forever a lost girl). Reached Publika round 230-ish, stuffed ourselves with free lunch courtesy of the ever so kind Miss L. While the boys went for solat, I shopped for the feasible medium ever to write a heartfelt fanletter to Beckett; wanted to go with the A3 sized drawing block but I think they're just too pricey. T_T so I settled with envelopes instead. Wrote William things that I wish I could say to him; like how he was such an inspiration and how bad I miss THE BOYS. (I used to have HUGE crush on Mrotek the Butcher, so-)
--
Around 430-ish I saw LMB's Shahrul (Lab the Rat was one of the opening act, so-) and his crew walking past by me and i know it was the cue for me to queue and wait for the show, so I went out and to my luck I was one of the first few persons at the entrance so I wait patiently while listening to the soundcheck.
The show supposed to start at 5 but since some of the performers weren't there yet, they've extended it to 6 instead.
Got in at 530 and my view was spectacular, it was like only a couple of steps to William (the stage was effing lowww <3) and I was excited as eff. Iki got in a bit late and he saw The Beckett himself!! Aaaaaaak If only i waited a few more minutes I could've shake hands with the guy!
That aside I love the fact that the place was intimate enough, such as this:
--
Lab the Rat started the show off with I think 5-6 songs? And they played Airinna, a song which Shahrul's brother wrote for his first daughter, so lovely. They mentioned that this was the first acoustic set they ever performed so that was pretty good to know. I didn't know that Shahrul was married so when Sha, one of the singer mentioned that Shahrul's the dad to be and he was touching Sha's pregnant belly that moment was pretty sweet <3. Last Sunday was my first time listening to LTR and I gotta say - they've got themselves some good ears and talents. Even Bill sneak in at the back (from where I was sitting, I can see him enjoying LTR's set) to see them and we (I) kept waving each other, I knew from that point forward, that night would be THE night. Bill was such a sweetheart.
Estranged was late!! We have to wait for them for at least an hour! They played three songs I guess and that was it. Billiam was up next! Wihu I so can't wait to tell you what happen from this point forward! (!!). So he came on the stage looking like this:
*swoon*
He started off with a cover from Damien Rice, Elephant which was too beautiful for words (which was also my first time listening him cover a ballad like that..*swoon*). Someone shouted "Saya cinta kamu!" and he was like "What? What was that?" and we, the front row people told him that it was I love You in Malay and he went "Awwww, how do I reply it back?", we literally taught him how to say it back and he said it "Saya cinta kamu too!, Saya cinta kamu too! :)". So sweet. I think I should list out the setlist for that night (as far as I can remember and not in numbered order):
1st slot:
1. Damien Rice's Elephant
2. Pour Yourself A Drink
3. Compromising Me
4. You and I Against the World
5. The Test
6. Girl, You Should Be A Drummer
7. Oh, Love
8. You Never Give Up
* One of my favs from his WTT EP. He told us that if we were there solo (i.e me), he'd be the other person to accompany us, d'aw. :")*
9. The Smiths' Ask Me
****Gotten rickroll'd by Beckett so awesomely I don't even.
--
2nd slot:
10. Everything We Had
11. Down and Out
12. The Fever
13. After The Last Midtown Show
14. Attention
15. About A Girl
16. New EP WWC Debut: Great Night (We've inside jokes with Bill, calling it Grape night/Gabe night on Stageit)
--
He was super charming, honestly the wittiest performer I've ever gotten the chance to see live, he interacted with the crowd like he was actually part of the crowd I feel like it was a huge reunion :") *sappy*. Oh, and his fascination over KL Drift was um, a bit worrying hahah! I, for the most part thinks that he was honestly trolling us with the KL Drift references from time to time. For the second slot he open the floor for requests and when there were too much of 'em he had to stop the crowd and said "Hey, hey let me at least have 3 songs of my choice okay?" and he played Everything We Had and everyone was singing along and everything was perfect asdfghjkl. Then! He asked a girl for her name, I think it was Mru, and Bill was all like "Mru? I like your name Mru, so Mru, what do you want me to play?" Damn gurl you lucky you. She asked for Down & Out and I swore I got tears in my eyes I miss The Academy Is so so much and it was one of my favorite song from them and now that I'm in a soul searching mode that song fits me perfectly oh god I feel so thankful to be alive and kicking to witness the song LIVE before my eyes.
Then William took a few seconds tea break (did I mention that he was not that well? I didn't? Well, yes he wasn't; he looked pale. But he sang like an angel-), and I was having this crazy conversation inside my head that I knew I wouldve been too nervous to say it aloud but to my surprise I said it! I asked Bill to play The Fever, and he was at first reluctant from the look if his face (maybe coz the song is too fast), but I did chipped in a I-hope-it-was-as-cute-as-I-intend-it-to-be "Pleeeeaaaaase", and he said something like " I wasn't gonna, but" then the song went on just like that I swear I could've fainted there and then!
He stared a lot at my phone (which I used to record it with) it was so so surreal! Someone you've been waiting to meet for the longest time was there in front of you, just talked to you and now playing YOUR song JUST FOR YOU. HOW CAN THAT NOT BE PERFECT?!
After The Fever, he played his second song choice - After The Last Midtown Show, and somewhere after that he played Attention!! That was The song that brought me to love them until today :'). He played About A Girl after a few people keep requesting that song and I honestly think he did that on purpose because it was a sing-along worthy song and when it was with THAT crowd, so thoughtful I don't even.
--
He ended it with the new song Grape Night <3. We had the opportunity to meet the man himself on stage, I was TOO NERVOUS I THINK I BLEW IT :(, he signed my poster I gave him the fanmail, got us on my instax AND OH HE AGREED TO BE ON MY FACES PROJECT *SUPER LOVES* AAAAAAAAAAK (Cannot wait to send the film over!). He was so friendly I can't believe. Sigh, THANK YOU BILL FOR THE GREAT NIGHT. (You are such a sweetheart) 50bucks for a 4-hour show, WELL SPENT.
My face oh the horror, but Bill's *love*
*I know I'm shouting here but whatevs toldya this gonna be all fangirly*
Good morning it is now 6:00 am on a Thursday morning.
--
Been the happiest these couple of days because Billam (William Beckett of The Academy Is...) is playing a show this June! Do you have any idea how HUGE that news is? No? Ok, let me enlighten you with how crazy I was for them (The Academy Is...) dated waaaaaay back in 2005.
--
Circa 2005 I went crazy finding new songs/bands, through p2p mostly but if I recall correctly, I was introduced to TAI from a friend, he suggested that I should take a listen to Attention, Attention and I was hooked ever since.
--
I remembered logging into countless theacademyis forums, trying to find their fans from Malaysia (and actually met one IRL (at some random gig)! Woop), my myspace statuses were all about their lyrics "Hold your head high heavy hearts" being the most favorite. I got flippin' excited when Santi was finally out because Almost Here was that good to make me want to listen more of their stuff. I remembered voting in to ask them to come play in Malaysia (but they went to Singapore instead boo) (and this was actually the time where Malaysia was just a tiny dot on the map. I'm not even kidding, no internationals, very few gigs), oh and did I mention I went hysteric upon finding out some random college kid used Almost Here cover design for a poster for this one college program, I remembered how hard I asked around just to find out who was responsible for that and when I found out who (a guy), I developed a tiny crush on him just because of that poster design. Heh heh heh. crazy fangirl is crazy.
--
But then, Fast Time... was meh, so I stopped listening to them for a few years... and then sometime last year, TAI disbanded and I was devastated. Ive read on how they decided to do so and it was heartbreaking, to say the least. Having Billiam, suddenly making a decision to tour here is BIG. BIG BIG BIG!
--
Yes, TAI might not be your typical 'legendary' bands per se, but they were my post-school music man. My 18y/o would die of excitements if she knew this could even happen! *musicdorkmusicdorkmusicdork*

Aaaaaaaaaaaak I CANNOT WAIT!!!
You know what's funny, tres weird and awkward?
Being at the same spot with people you (used) to know (or stalked) through myspace, livejournal, vox blahblahblah and not being able to really hang around with them because:
a) you were a socially awkward penguin
b) you didn't dress cool enough to be in the crowd
c) you were not sure whether they remember you as much.
--
So yeah.
I was sticking out like a sore thumb, sitting at the edge looking forever alone (together) with my bro and enjoying the ambiance. Not sure if I like being in that situation or that I even want to be in that kind of situation ever again.
--
Drove my way to KL today, was lost as mofo but found my way to Lake Gardens just in time to catch the girls sing and dance and host a hi tea picnic potluck party.
--
I think I'm meant for live music and only live music. Not chill out sesh whatsoever. There's always the first time for everything, and also, the last.
If we ever bumped in into each other, cuma ada dua sebab kenapa saya tak tegur awak:
1) saya tak kenal awak/tak berapa selesa
2) saya suka awak dalam diam jadi saya nervous sampai taktau nak kata apa. Speechless.
--
Happens thrice these past few weeks. Why am I such a sissy? All I can do is stare at how much perfection God has put on you(s). Gah.
--
Tak, saya tak sombong. Betul. Dah dua kali saya lambai & senyum dekat awak untuk nampak friendly, dan sekali saya tahan nervous dengan makan cokelat supaya saya nampak macho dan tak nervous. Padahal, awak je kot. Awak je kot.
--
Tak. Saya cuma nak berkawan je dengan awak (-awak sekalian) sebab saya rasa korang interesting gila. That's why I have such a huge crush on both of you. More towards adoration lah. Heh.
--
Me and my social awkwardness. I don't know when will I learn.
I had one crazy night last week. Everything was not in order and I had no proper plan at all. But I know I have to see my little storyteller, I have to - I decided to just, Go. The last time she was in town (March,2010) I was gluing myself up and though I love her music so much, that night was horrible for me. My heart wasn't at the right place.
I had my Vox back then. I wrote so much, so much so that it kinda hurts to look back.
But, this time around, I feel her through Concrete Wall, I sang along happily to Just You and Me. It shows kan? How a year can do to you? Like how this time around, I carry my heart with me, and my head too and it was nice... enjoying her chill music all night. I haven't done that in a while, what's more it was with people who appreciates.
--
--
It is not just a show. That show is kinda a milestone for me, and I thank you Zee, for making it happen. Zee Avi was perfect that night, she was fun, quirky, appreciative and her songs were mesmerizing. I love how she puts her heart into it (...and how cute her double bass player too ;) ). Love was in the air from where I was standing, though things are so much different now, I am okay with being surrounded by things like that.
--
Falling in love with this, all over again.
--
And, bashing people on twitter without mentioning them, is just the same as mengutuk belakang belakang. Yes, this included. I just don't like too much negativities roam my timeline. :(, wish you would be happy soon.
Upon finding about their album (accidentally, I decided to randomly download FTP's Torches) while speed walking to class, all I can hear was this euphoric combination of quirky sounds. Might not be too hipster/indie for your likings whatsoever, Foster the People's Torches is THE album for me, y'know? At least for 2011.
They helped me combat my social anxiety, in all seriousness. I feel like a bad ass when I have them on loop. And they are coming down here. They. are. coming. Like, wha?
I danced to them a lot. At least in my head. I danced to them quietly on them long train rides. I danced to them in my room. I danced to them during lectures.
I am just. Excited beyond. BEYOND excited. Not being coherent here, but this is what good music do to me.
I'll be waiting to dance to your music on January guys. :')
Aku and my guy macam ada satu agreement ni tau. Entahlah kalau aku sorang je yang perasan, tapi it has been like that for so many years, even masa mula-mula close dulu. We have this No show policy kot, ahah lawak pulak. We don't parade our feelings that much, kalau ada pun, jaraaaaang sangat, sekarang lagi kronik siap ada orang tanya aku dengan dia dah takde apa-apa ke. Hm, growing up process agaknya?
Tapi thing is, aku suka macam ni. Macam kita dua je tau orang lain tak payah nak sibuk sibuk jaga tepi kain, Kalau gaduh pun takde orang tau hu hu (okay melainkan roomate, sila baca senyap senyap and takyah ulang ayat ni bila kami gaduh ok? Tengs!). Dan sekarang ni musim dia cari aku agaknya, mwehehe, I like this (Y). Sebab seronok bila pagi pagi ada message, or tengah hari ada random jokes in my inbox and bila nak tidur dapat at least a good night call. Kan seronok macam ni? Happy je. Stay gedik macam ni boleh tak? (Ok, I know its impossible. =.=")
-- Anyways, lagi 4 hari aku kat sini, aku tak nak balik, aku macam tak sanggup nak buat final exam... semester ni susah gila. T T, entahlah, harap tak fail, itu aje. Pointer turun sikit tak pe kot. Macam dah tak sabar nak intern and habis kan final year lepastu kerja. Friends my age semua dah kerja ok! Haih, gila loser buat degree je pun dah belajar lama-lama. I know belajar tak kira usia kan, tapi entahlah macam kena pressure tengok environment kawan-kawan semua atleast kalau tengah belajar pun buat masters kot, tak main ah degree ni. Sobs. Tu la, sapa suruh main main time SPM, padan muka sendiri.
Hm, boleh tak sekarang ni aku rasa cam dah jauh gila dengan bff, distant sangat sangat. Macam aku dah tak tau updates apa-apa, hu hu, what to do.. I guess aku taklah seimportant yang aku sangka kot. Tsk. So sekarang aku takde closest friend kalau nak diikutkan. Stress sikit sebab kalau ada benda best jadi dapat share dengan the boys and the guy. Gila bosan. Point of views lelaki ni... I mean kalau nak di-apply on things that orang/perempuan macam aku suka jadi cam rigid. Tak best doh feedback, sekali sekala ye la. I mean, I need gff, gedik, bimbo moments jugak to live. -- Dinner tadi kitorang buat grilled cheese, and all the while dalam kepala otak ada grilled cheesus. Lol.
I love being at home because there are familiar faces from every corner. I've been cooking for two days in a row now and let me tell you it feels good :), I should keep my domestic skills in check before someone swept off my feet, one day. Heehee, I'm such a hopeless romantic.
I met my guy last Sunday after ages of not seeing each other, t'was... fun. We did nothing much, just catching up over food mostly, but yeah I am the happiest when I'm with him. Oh, brothers asked me to take a listen to Cee Lo's F U and I did. So decided to do a cover for it, nyehehe, here goes!
Tadi, bumped into few of familiar faces, they said I seems happy. Lol. Sebenarnya aku dok fikir nak tegur (perli ehe) this guy friend of mine and I think it shows kot sebab aku macam tergelak sorang-sorang before I could really tease him. Diorang siap suruh explain siapa yang buat aku happy (nampak sangat muka aku memang gloomy gila kalau tengah jalan, e he he), and macam takkan aku nak share inside jokes I just had with myself kan? So aku biarkan aje.
Seriously-lah, I think I have too many inside jokes inside my head and I can burst laughing anytime and if at the same time ada manusia yang perasan sure ingat aku tak berapa nak betul. Thing is, tak semua faham, dan jokes takkan jadi jokes kalau kau kena explain kan? So I let it be.
Anyways, dua hari lepas ada lecturer baru ganti spot the former lecturer of my least favourite subject. Subjek ni mula-mula aku ambik pun sebab aku rasa macam interesting gila, tapi salah satu sebab aku menyampah was that lecturer lama tu macam take into account yang bukan semua budak dalam kelas tu came from the same background. Contohnya aku. Manalah aku nak tau remaizer tu apekebenda, and dia siap cakap "Oh, If you don't know I won't go further"... aku dah cari and aku tak faham. Bila aku tanya nanti dia tanya soalan in jargon yang memang alien gila.
Kira macam aku cakap language coding dengan orang belajar chemical. Tak masuk kan? Ha macam tu ah. Aku lost gila ah before cuti mid sem ni. Lepastu bila dah take over aku suka sangat sebab lecturer yang baru ni selalu go back and forth on financial jargons, so banyak yang aku tahu and banyak yang aku rasa aku boleh tanya untuk fahamkan. Baru dua hari, but I kinda like this lecturer. Nampak effort dia nak ajar. So aku sangat bersyukur lah. (kot. for the time being) Tak kisah lah banyak kerja pun, janji aku faham.
Oh oh! Investment portfolio aku naik sikit. Happpppyyyy sangat ni. Even aku kat rank #10000++ E he he, budak baru belajar okay lah kan nampak naik sikit. Hee.
Anyways, tiba-tiba semalam tergerak hati nak tulis using my left hand sebab ada budak yang aku macam suka tengok ada sikit accident yang sebabkan dia tak boleh nak menulis using dia punya tangan kanan (she's a righty, obviously), so macam aku terfikir ah kan, kalau aku kena macam dia, how am I supposed to learn to write using left hand promptly? Malang tak berbau kan. Aku rasa orang lefty attractive and very artsy, aku rasa lah. Sebab most of lefties I know semua macam confidence dia tinggi lain macam sikit and macam charming sikit lah so that what makes them attractive (loverboy included ahem.) to me.
So yeah, obviously tulisan aku cam cibs. E he he. Kalau tengok tulisan aku yang betul betul pun tak semua orang faham sebab aku suka short-hand notes. Semua macam cacing. Honestly, bila dah bergelumang dengan coding for four years aku rasa macam pen dan pensel tu semua tak relevan untuk wujud. Tak ada guna. Nak menulis pun kekok. Buruk gila ah tulisan aku, orang-orang tertentu je faham (example: ex-lecturers), kadang-kadang aku sendiri tak faham e he he.
Oh yeah, semalam (or ke today? aku confused lah EST timeline ni. hm) was/is Glee Day. Excited okay! Glee kids nyanyi Billionaire (like hello! Bruno Mars! (<3) and Travie) Hee. Tak sabar, cepat leak pleaseeee!
Oh, dan, Hello! (harini post tak emo kan kan kan? Sebab dah penat :) )
To accidentally found something or to be exact someone that inspire you without them knowing is indescribable. Who would've thought that a person you would not take a glance on can move you inside? (Contohnya.) I found mine (for now, for now I think this person is perfect). Throughout my years there will always be someone who is a total stranger to me would lend a helping hand - just by being my inspiration to look at world differently. To view things into different perspectives. To get all annoyingly optimistic on things that should just ruin your entire being. Or sometimes, just being there, to entertain me - to tend to the mellowest day of my week.
More often than not, these people will miraculously appear in my life (for a short while, maybe longer, if God permits) in one way or another, and I keep falling in admiration how the heck these people are crafted so special by Allah, inside and out. I wonder if they know they are genuinely beautiful. I wonder if they know they touches someone that they don't know. Someone like me. --
