This is important: *crack knuckles*
__
I've told you how perfect Sunday went have I not? And I've told almost everyone I know Sunday night was perf- *kabush*,
Well this is going to be longggg and fangirl-ish (at least total full blown fangirling), you might wanna fix yourself a cuppa. Let's do this!
--
I got important meeting at 9 with some important people on Sunday morning and I stayed until 11. I promised them I'll stay until 1130 but I was extremely fidgety just by knowing that I'll be seeing the man himself at 5 on the same day. Grabbed my car key, picked up my bros and L and we were good to go. I actually drove out from SA at noon. Brothers complained that it was a tad too early to go anyways, but I did not let that affect my eager beaver-ness to meet Bill.

We got lost for at least an hour LOL and never have I ever be in the middle of KL behind the wheels so it was such a beautiful adventure (for me at the very least, I'm not sure about L. Heheh)! We've crossed Dataran Merdeka, KLCC, BB  you name it.

At 2 something I manage to find my way back and headed back to Dutamas to find Publika. Fun fact: I've been to Publika twice, one for the YunaInspred competition (me and the band as the VIPs) and another one for The Impatient Sisters at The Bee but never by my own so I got lost (again, me - forever a lost girl). Reached Publika round 230-ish, stuffed ourselves with free lunch courtesy of the ever so kind Miss L. While the boys went for solat, I shopped for the feasible medium ever to write a heartfelt fanletter to Beckett; wanted to go with the A3 sized drawing block but I think they're just too pricey. T_T so I settled with envelopes instead. Wrote William things that I wish I could say to him; like how he was such an inspiration and how bad I miss THE BOYS. (I used to have HUGE crush on Mrotek the Butcher, so-)
--
Around 430-ish I saw LMB's Shahrul (Lab the Rat was one of the opening act, so-) and his crew walking past by me and i know it was the cue for me to queue and wait for the show, so I went out and to my luck I was one of the first few persons at the entrance so I wait patiently while listening to the soundcheck.

The show supposed to start at 5 but since some of the performers weren't there  yet, they've extended it to 6 instead.

Got in at 530 and my view was spectacular, it was like only a couple of steps to William (the stage was effing lowww <3) and I was excited as eff. Iki got in a bit late and he saw The Beckett himself!! Aaaaaaak If only i waited a few more minutes I could've shake hands with the guy!

That aside I love the fact that the place was intimate enough, such as this:

--
Lab the Rat started the show off with I think 5-6 songs? And they played Airinna, a song which Shahrul's brother wrote for his first daughter, so lovely. They mentioned that this was the first acoustic set they ever performed so that was pretty good to know. I didn't know that Shahrul was married so when Sha, one of the singer mentioned that Shahrul's the dad to be and he was touching Sha's pregnant belly that moment was pretty sweet <3. Last Sunday was my first time listening to LTR and I gotta say - they've got themselves some good ears and talents. Even Bill sneak in at the back (from where I was sitting, I can see him enjoying LTR's set) to see them and we (I) kept waving each other, I knew from that point forward, that night would be THE night. Bill was such a sweetheart.

Estranged was late!! We have to wait for them for at least an hour! They played three songs I guess and that was it. Billiam was up next! Wihu I so can't wait to tell you what happen from this point forward! (!!). So he came on the stage looking like this:
*swoon*

He started off with a cover from Damien Rice, Elephant which was too beautiful for words (which was also my first time listening him cover a ballad like that..*swoon*). Someone shouted "Saya cinta kamu!" and he was like "What? What was that?" and we, the front row people told him that it was I love You in Malay and he went "Awwww, how do I reply it back?", we literally taught him how to say it back and he said it "Saya cinta kamu too!, Saya cinta kamu too! :)". So sweet. I think I should list out the setlist for that night (as far as I can remember and not in numbered order):

1st slot:
1. Damien Rice's Elephant
2. Pour Yourself A Drink
3. Compromising Me
4. You and I Against the World
5. The Test
6. Girl, You Should Be A Drummer
7. Oh, Love
8. You Never Give Up
* One of my favs from his WTT EP. He told us that if we were there solo (i.e me), he'd be the other person to accompany us, d'aw. :")*

9. The Smiths' Ask Me
****Gotten rickroll'd by Beckett so awesomely I don't even.
--
2nd slot:
10. Everything We Had
11. Down and Out
12. The Fever
13. After The Last Midtown Show
14. Attention
15. About A Girl
16. New EP WWC Debut: Great Night (We've inside jokes with Bill, calling it Grape night/Gabe night on Stageit)

--
He was super charming, honestly the wittiest performer I've ever gotten the chance to see live, he interacted with the crowd like he was actually part of the crowd I feel like it was a huge reunion :") *sappy*. Oh, and his fascination over KL Drift was um, a bit worrying hahah! I, for the most part thinks that he was honestly trolling us with the KL Drift references from time to time. For the second slot he open the floor for requests and when there were too much of 'em he had to stop the crowd and said "Hey, hey let me at least have 3 songs of my choice okay?" and he played Everything We Had and everyone was singing along and everything was perfect asdfghjkl. Then! He asked a girl for her name, I think it was Mru, and Bill was all like "Mru? I like your name Mru, so Mru, what do you want me to play?" Damn gurl you lucky you. She asked for Down & Out and I swore I got tears in my eyes I miss The Academy Is so so much and it was one of my favorite song from them and now that I'm in a soul searching mode that song fits me perfectly oh god I feel so thankful to be alive and kicking to witness the song LIVE before my eyes.

Then William took a few seconds tea break (did I mention that he was not that well? I didn't? Well, yes he wasn't; he looked pale. But he sang like an angel-), and I was having this crazy conversation inside my head that I knew I wouldve been too nervous to say it aloud but to my surprise I said it! I asked Bill to play The Fever, and he was at first reluctant from the look if his face (maybe coz the song is too fast), but I did chipped in a I-hope-it-was-as-cute-as-I-intend-it-to-be "Pleeeeaaaaase", and he said something like " I wasn't gonna, but" then the song went on just like that I swear I could've fainted there and then!

He stared a lot at my phone (which I used to record it with) it was so so surreal! Someone you've been waiting to meet for the longest time was there in front of you, just talked to you and now playing YOUR song JUST FOR YOU. HOW CAN THAT NOT BE PERFECT?!

After The Fever, he played his second song choice - After The Last Midtown Show, and somewhere after that he played Attention!! That was The song that brought me to love them until today :'). He played About A Girl after a few people keep requesting that song and I honestly think he did that on purpose because it was a sing-along worthy song and when it was with THAT crowd, so thoughtful I don't even.
--
He ended it with the new song Grape Night <3. We had the opportunity to meet the man himself on stage, I was TOO NERVOUS I THINK I BLEW IT :(, he signed my poster I gave him the fanmail, got us on my instax AND OH HE AGREED TO BE ON MY FACES PROJECT *SUPER LOVES* AAAAAAAAAAK (Cannot wait to send the film over!). He was so friendly I can't believe. Sigh, THANK YOU BILL FOR THE GREAT NIGHT. (You are such a sweetheart) 50bucks for a 4-hour show, WELL SPENT.
My face oh the horror, but Bill's *love*

*I know I'm shouting here but whatevs toldya this gonna be all fangirly*

Thank you for reading HAHAHA you're alright. :)

//82: Classifieds

Good morning it is now 6:00 am on a Thursday morning.
--
Been the happiest these couple of days because Billam (William Beckett of The Academy Is...) is playing a show this June! Do you have any idea how HUGE that news is? No? Ok, let me enlighten you with how crazy I was for them (The Academy Is...) dated waaaaaay back in 2005.
--
Circa 2005 I went crazy finding new songs/bands, through p2p mostly but if I recall correctly, I was introduced to TAI from a friend, he suggested that I should take a listen to Attention, Attention and I was hooked ever since.
--
I remembered logging into countless theacademyis forums, trying to find their fans from Malaysia (and actually met one IRL (at some random gig)! Woop), my myspace statuses were all about their lyrics "Hold your head high heavy hearts" being the most favorite. I got flippin' excited when Santi was finally out because Almost Here was that good to make me want to listen more of their stuff.  I remembered voting in to ask them to come play in Malaysia (but they went to Singapore instead boo) (and this was actually the time where Malaysia was just a tiny dot on the map. I'm not even kidding, no internationals, very few gigs), oh and did I mention I went hysteric upon finding out some random college kid used Almost Here cover design for a poster for this one college program, I remembered how hard I asked around just to find out who was responsible for that and when I found out who (a guy), I developed a tiny crush on him just because of that poster design. Heh heh heh. crazy fangirl is crazy.
--
But then, Fast Time... was meh, so I stopped listening to them for a few years... and then sometime last year, TAI disbanded and I was devastated. Ive read on how they decided to do so and it was heartbreaking, to say the least. Having Billiam, suddenly making a decision to tour here is BIG. BIG BIG BIG!
--
Yes, TAI might not be your typical 'legendary' bands per se, but they were my post-school music man. My 18y/o would die of excitements if she knew this could even happen! *musicdorkmusicdorkmusicdork*

Aaaaaaaaaaaak I CANNOT WAIT!!!

//39: Of impromptu night out and adorable sisters.

A friend invited me for Feedback Open Mic sesh at The Bee, Publika - with the sole purpose of catching the up and rising trio, The Impatient Sisters. A few days ago, the vocalist and I kept contacting each other for the band's tres cool t-shirt (and me, being a giant, can't fit into the shirt I ordered, thus needed a return).
--
The girls were super friendly. I was greeted first by them (!! fangirl alert), with hugs and smiles. Sighs :'), we even walked into the venue together (ahihihi). Proceeded with the return and managed to get a seat. The open mic gig was nice, the venue is an awesome spot for that... and I particularly enjoy OJ Law's set.

The girls came to the stage around 10ish, played around 6 songs if I'm not mistaken - with And and The Ark (!! favorites), and they invited their special secret guest - Zee Avi for her song, Anchor. It was surreal because this would be the second time I bumped into Zee in some random show. Wihu! Didn't get to say hi though because I lost her after the show and we had to rush back.

What I love most about the sisters is that, they play a lot of cute instruments such as the kazoo, and their trademark I must say - the xylophone. Their voices sound so good, combined together which makes the perfect harmony. Forever You Know, which a song they didn't play last night sounded almost country-ish but with their own twists, The Ark and Hey There Young Sailor will lull you to such a wonderful world of soft, quirky music.
--
Comets and Stars was refreshing as always. Eisley-ish, but nice.

I recorded a few, but this one was the most special I guess:

Check all of their (wonderful) stuff, here.

//37.

It has been almost a week and I can't still shake off the fact that I had the crappiest spot during FTP. D:
and that I still loop their songs every frikkin day,
that the first thing and the last thing I do would be tuning in into random FTP interviews and countless live performances of them,
and that the only thing I talk about is how the songs relate to me so much (and how Foster write so well),
and how Ruby makes my heart aches,
and how I regret not playing their songs weeks before the concert so that I can get in the zone
and how far in the future that I have to wait for their second show here.

... and when Pontius tweets "Japanation" I feel like .. I don't know, I just feel like telling him how they made my year worthwhile because I end up discovering them anyways because if it wasnt for that random download thing I used to do when I'm bored, I wouldn't get a listen of their album.

This is frikkin unhealthy. I found Foster's facebook and I kinda left him a little message about how amazing they were last Friday.

It has been eons since I last fell in love deep with a band, that all I want to sing is their songs, and find things about them, I don't care how mainstream they've become...I just, am just effing glad that I get the chance to own the record, and find their b-sides.

Foster the People, I love you beyond words.

Sincerely,
your latest fan(girl) who had the crappiest spot during your Asia tour (in KL 2012) and will always remember Foster's face bathe in the purple stage light.

p/s: yes, I can be such a dork.

//36: "Foster Us, We are the People!"

Wasn't even gonna lie that I was too tired, too frikkin jet lagged to even think about going to shows, but I promised a friend, and I bought the ticket already so wattahack. I know for a fact that Ive sworn by everything that is great that the album was the highlight of my 2011, but but, y'know when you're too busy with stuff your excitement tend to chill down a bit.

Anyhoos! Enough chitchatting about petty stuff. Came there as early as my lazyass could and we chilled for a bit, (if i knew that Foster the People would roam around KLCC, I would come superfrikkin early. :/). And around 7ish we made a move to the convention centre, hall 4. Felt cheated for awhile because we partyzone people shouldn't mix with regular people (ahem), but there werent any barricade that separate us and we were pretty far back, all I can see was the speakers. SPEAKERS MAN! Grrh.

When Natalie and some random dj from Hitz were cheering up the crowd, we kept chanting PARTYZONE! PARTYZONE! PARTYZONE! Which to tell you the truth, t'was frikkin cool. Hihihi felt like I was 16 again :'). So around 830ish (the show supposed to start at 830.), they moved the barricade forward and when the show starts somehow someone somewhere was being a total winner and got us, the Partyzone people moved forward to the Fanatic Zone, which cost waaaay more (and Yuna, Zee were there too), my spot was horrible but the amazing music make up for it. All Foster gotta do was raise his hands and command us to dance and we did. I DID. Gah I miss going to shows like that! Where all there is was the music and me and nothing else matters. Nothing else matters!

Best crowd I've been in, in a very long while.

Warrant was fantastic. Don't Stop! was out of this world. And I hate anything dubstep; but extended Pumped Up Kicks killed it! Love it! Love love love it! Foster was being such a sweetheart by giving this short inspirational speech, such as this:

Though I can't really see them for where I was standing, I took a peek of Foster's famous shoulder dance (eheh!), Fink with his bass and Pontius (Ahmagad why you so hot?) raging on drums.

But the sound system was pretty suckish to be honest. And organizer could so much better if they have actually do their work and such. But thanks for the free Fanatic Zone pass :P!

2012 had just started and I already had the most amazing two sets of weekends so far!

P.S. Waste will always be the sweetest.

//6: Muse.

Upon finding about their album (accidentally, I decided to randomly download FTP's Torches) while speed walking to class, all I can hear was this euphoric combination of quirky sounds. Might not be too hipster/indie for your likings whatsoever, Foster the People's Torches is THE album for me, y'know? At least for 2011.

They helped me combat my social anxiety, in all seriousness. I feel like a bad ass when I have them on loop. And they are coming down here. They. are. coming. Like, wha?

I danced to them a lot. At least in my head. I danced to them quietly on them long train rides. I danced to them in my room. I danced to them during lectures.

I am just. Excited beyond. BEYOND excited. Not being coherent here, but this is what good music do to me.

I'll be waiting to dance to your music on January guys. :')

October 30, 2011

You would really like it here.

Nothing beats a busy rainy Sunday with good music on loop.

July 17, 2011

So, yep.

Haha look at me, I never finish anything! Tsk.

Supposed to put up the final 2 days of the internship but on Thursday and Friday I was too busy with life. What is up, yeah? :-p. 8 months finally ended and unlike my friends who appreciate 2 months extra of solitary, I've come to a point of loathing it. Hewhewhew. So much things happen lately that I choose not to be on my own, it's horrifying! If only you knew how much, if only.

On Friday, we, the interns had our last lunch - the lunch we stopped having together after a few months. So yeah. Went to Padi, and just chill. Went back to the office, wave goodbyes and say thank yous to everyone and thats it. Thats how I spent my Friday at the office. Hoho. Went to Delicious with A later at night and just ~chill. Yep, I love the word 'Chill' now hahaha. A said I changed too much and that I suck so bad before, um, thanks? :-), change is good.

Yesterday was okay okay je lah kot. Urbanscapes was fun because of the people I met, aaaand that was it. Khottal was one hell of a band. I mean it's hard to find a band that can make me close my eyes, eliminates the crowd and just, take a breather and listen. I did that during Incubus's, Yuna's Penakut, and a handful of performers and i haven't been doing that in years! Khottal was the highlight of my day. Although our love balloon was nonchalantly received, but the music was awe-fucking-some. They reminded me of why I love live music, why I spent so much to watch live music, why - I, who loathe being in a crowded place - can stand being in one when there's a good music to enjoy, and the reason why I brave the mud in my overpriced maxi dress.

June 13, 2011

When all else fails, I seek refuge in music. Has been my way of releasing anger, sadness, portraying my likesandlove and whatnots, always will be. So today, I saw a cover of Best I ever Had, and it was the song of that few early moments I know things would not last. To be honest, I don't know what the hell i'm feeling right now so there. I feel like making my own cover of it, (- though my playing still suck, but whatever yes I nak lepas whatever I'm feeling lulz).

October 17, 2010

Naive.

Yep. First ever youtube upload. Of me.

I did a cover of one of my favourite songs and please, please don't laugh.

Procrastination #1: Playlist 001.

My work has been put on hold for many days already and if it were up to me, I am not bother to even touch them at all. Sigh, I wish grades are not everything.
Anyways. I'm thinking of making a playlist. Hehe, another reason to procrastinate (I'm such a world class procrastinator, no kid). So watch this space. Nothing /rare/ just... familiar tunes you've been missing all along and my personal favs, I guess? :)

Semalam masa datang idea ni, semua lagu upbeat, tapi sekarang mood down sikit, so mellow sikit lah, sorry.

Everything, every single line.

Fast forward to now. I can't believe I'm still with you. I still remember the emotionally grueling 5 hours bus and train rides with you on the other end making sure that I was okay. I miss you. I miss Atuk the most. I miss everything. I'm too vulnerable sometimes, and I hate that.

September 14, 2010

I've been here before not long ago, with someone just as beautiful, just as doubtful.

Remind me how we got this far.

My go-to song if things seem like they're crumbling apart.
For the time being, I am not so sure myself, just feelin' a bit, meh.
I hate to assume.
Prove me wrong, will you?
